a new toy makes nicholas a happy boy.

finally... with the help of my young "shi-fu", i got my drum kit set up and ready to roll... yamaha 5-pc kit with high hat and awaiting the arrival of a couple more babies to complete the whole kit so that i can practise to my heart's content! =)

on a sidenote, its still rather loud with a mattress behind the wall. hopefully when i get my new cArpet, drumsticks and some sponge from my shi-fu, it will do the trick of keeping everyone happy.

playing around with my iphone apps. woot! tomorrow gotta work! =( sadz...

off days are for what!

off days are for meeting up and catching up with friends.

off days are for sleeping in late, getting comfy in the blankets and not wanting to get up even though you should have slept enough.

off days are for doing errands that you do not have time for normally. like going to the bank or post office.

Short hair or long hair? I think i prefer girls with short hair. classy with a lil bit of spice in it. =)

berms or jeans? berms! casual, easy to put on and airy!

tattoo? one on the small back of a lady. SEXY~! one above the ankle for the dude. hmmm... =)

To the children

How great would it be if I am able to sit my kids down next time and tell them about how i met their mother and it would span over a long long period of time?

How sweet would that be?

Better still, here's a couple of "definition" from the dick-tionary of Barney Stinson:
1) Barn·man and Rob·in [barn-man and rob-in] – A delightful and humorous play on words meant to equate Barney Stinson and Robin Scherbatsky with popular comic book superheroes Batman and Robin, but instead of fighting crime they like to have sex in public places… but they do sometimes wear costumes, so… yeah.

2) hook·ing up [hoo-k-ing up] - When two people do it, consistently, but aren’t hanging out during daylight hours – unless it’s for the express purpose of getting it on.

3) hang·ing out [hang – ing – owt] – The process of participating in an organized activity together – such as a movie or dinner - followed shortly thereafter by furious banging.

4) see·ing where things are go·ing [see-ing wair things ahr going] – The process in which two people hang out, hook up, and do everything they can not to think about what it means.

5) da·ting – [day-ting] 1) The first time seeing where things are going fails. 2) Hanging out without the guarantee of sex.

6) play·ing the field – [play-ing the feeeeld] – Banging as many people as possible.

7) just friends – [just frends] – Two people who probably could’ve banged that one night but didn’t and it’s been a little weird ever since. They’ve thought about it, though.

8) marr·iage – [marr-edge] see: suicide.

Things in perspective.

Im swarmed with activities..unknowingly... I get caught up in so much stuff/activities that i need to do, people that i need to meet up and schedules to keep to...i realise need to keep a timetable and organiser~! Think its time to get some me-time and BE DISCIPLINED. No distractions and no nonsense!
.
AND i just went for my first drum lessons today! totally love it~! need to work on my rhythm and my seems-like-not-mine left hand...ALOT... well, drumming is all about practise...here we go! 1-2-3-4...boomsss ris-Low-style~! And the study materials for CFA has arrived and boy there's really alot to read up on. well here's the goal - hit it on the first try! *BANG!*
.
and i still need to cramp in some jogging/running time to prepare for my Real Run and not to mention, a pot belly waiting for me at the end of the tunnel if i still keep up my extremely healthy but currently not-active lifestyle. Never mind i still have the soccer matches to jumpstart me.
.
"Beginnings are often scary, endings are always sad, but its the middle that counts. You should remember that when you find yourself at the beginning." -Steven Rogers

Year End

Despite not taking any leave for OCTOBER, my OCT plans/events appears well taken care of by the flow of my shift schedule... 1 wedding to attend, 2 soccer friendly matches, my FIRST drums lesson, 1 day of course (PSA) and just enough OFFs kept for myself. Which means to say, i can save up more leave! for DEC! finally i get to spend my X'mas week on LEAVE.

On things currently on hand in the near future...

1) New Balance REAL Run coming up on 8th November 2009
2) CFA exams in June 2010
3) Drumming lessons starting next Sunday 4th October 2009

Time

"Life, if you keep chasing it so hard, will drive you to death. Time-when pursued like a bandit-will behave like one; always remaining one country or one room ahead of you, changing its name and hair color to elude you, slipping out the back door of the motel just as you're banging through the lobby with your newest search warrant, leaving only a burning cigarette in the ashtray to taunt you. At some point you have to stop because it won't. You have to admit that you can't catch it. That you're not supposed to catch it..."

The basterds.

Brad Pitt is a Basterd~

Just went to catch The Inglourious Basterds with my colleagues after my night shift. 150mins long. For those who want to catch Brad Pitt with a slang, go and watch it. Movie was well-paced for such a lengthy movie and made great by the villian Col. Hans Landa who managed to portrayed a villian that feels sinister and yet hard to hate. Characters were plenty but each character was still able to create a lasting impact before "dying" off and ending was...well...i would say, very good, imho.

Next up, drumming~! who says old dog cant learn new tricks? =)

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

hmm..

Its been a long time since i last blogged. just finished Chuck season 2. Cant wait for season 3. It's only coming out in 2010. so sad.

That aside, currently in the midst of arranging for things to do over the course of the next few months, trying to get myself busy and well, things do get difficult when it comes to planning given my work schedule.

interview

interview is a very interesting process. you go there and feel like the deepest shit of a man left in the world and come out feeling WORSE than the deepest shit of a man left in the world.

and then you go through a second stage called "the rage" whereby you start to get angry at the person sitting in front of you. The smirks he/she made, the tough questions they give and more importantly, you get mad at yourself. "Why the hell did i answer THAT way?" "Which idiot dunno the answer to that, you idiot!?" "Why did i come for this interview in the FIRST PLACE!?"

the third stage is where you start to accept whatever you have done and tell yourself "there's always a second chance. Come back next time and prove them wrong!" Go back and sleep and get over it. No point sulking over spilled milk.

And the last stage is when you wake up ONE morning (may be the next morning, or the day after, or few years down the road) and suddenly you feel better and the "stupid" interview seems like a thing of the past. *bling bling* Life's full of hope once more and suddenly, you feel BETTER than the man who felt worse than the deepest shit of a man. and where does that put you?

Still the deepest shit of a man in the world. for not ace-ing that interview. =)

PS: I hope i get to the 2nd round! Fingers crossed*

Watami

Ebi Sushi~ Ichiban!

Salad~ healthy and o-i-shiiii~

Went to Watami@Ion Orchard for lunch on Saturday with Sharon and the food was really good, i must say. the menu was simple with only 3 pages of food items for order. So it was a little of everything japanese and not too much. We ordered 4 items and well, they were definitely better than some other restaurant i have been to. the only thing i have to complain would have to be the cookies and cream alcoholic drink i ordered. if they wanted to blend the ice, make sure they are crushed. had a hard time sucking the drink up the straw. haha..

Japanese Pancake~ "cai tou gui" beaten hands down!

Kebab~

on a side note, crap~! I bought another pair of shoes! must make sure my parents dun find out about it~

got it at half price~! =]

Wax it!

For those of you thinking of getting a kinky shave, read the blog above. =)
On the work issue, now im getting more inclined to pave an alternative route since the possibility of me "throwing my pass" is getting more and more probable by the minute. Office politics and different ideals make "living" by the minute harder and harder.
On the positive note, i am going for reservist soon! At least a break away from work... and things should be moving real fast once im back from reservist. vroom!

Nua-ing

The art of nua-ing

Some people find it extremely hard to attain this very elusive art (of nua-ing), but for me, its a gift. and here i am, trying to impart the very essence of it to you.

First of all,

You need to set aside 1 to X number of days that you can afford to have.
Then, you need a pen and a paper, jot down all the things that you MUST accomplished first. Number them from the the most important to the least important.
Remind yourself that you need to complete all these first. Remind yourself everyday before the "project" goes underway.
Then come up with a secondary list of things you dun necessarily have to accomplish but can TRY to do. Likewise, pen them down in accordance to their importance.

And then the final step on the day(s) you have painstakingly set aside, take out your TO-DO lists and put them in front of you.

Open your PC/laptop, go to your facebook, check your email and start blogging away. There's this new sensation on the internet, check it out. Your mum needs help with the new DVD player, go help. You feel like chatting with your long-forgotten friend, call them. Shit, you forgot you need to do some shopping therapy and there is still time, what are you waiting for? go!

At the end of the day, look at your TO-DO lists and checked away all the things you HAVE to do BUT didn't do and revel in the pleasure and give yourself a pat on your back and whisper quietly to yourself, "great job!"

cause you have just successfully nua your whole day away. =)

The sexy part.

*cant seem to rotate it no matter what i do* Anyway, i attended this course over the last 2 days and well, for once, i find this one out of the many PSA's courses to be relevant, interesting and not that irritating. Some other courses just have WAY too many interaction and too little content.

Ebi Mentai Dragon Roll at Suki Sushi at Cineleisure!
Highly recommended! *slurps*

Dark Mocha Frappucino is back in town! Reason to go Starbucks now!

Oh well, I found myself wondering, ALL OF A SUDDEN, what is it that makes a girl/lady attractive? In short, what kind of a man are you? Generally, they can be classified into the 2 big B category, the Boobs guy and the Butt guy. Sorry guys, there's no Brain involved here. Whoever said those with brains are sexy are being lame and are just trying to impress the girls. Guys associate sexiness with images, not words. Its proven.

So, to me, I think the number one most sexy thing about a woman physically had to be the part of the flesh just above the butt, but barely covered by the shirt. not the butt crack. and then followed closely by the butt. Yes, I am a "Butt" person. =) this thought came after the lecturer from the creative thinking course told us to constantly challenge all the "norm" we have always assumed and just so happen, that at the foodcourt today, i saw some cleavage (HEY! dun condemn me for someone else choice of clothing!) and I "challenge" myself on the notion that showing "cleavage" is sexy.

Well, they are nice to see, i do have to agree. but comparatively, i still prefer the other B.=) and before you do any judging on how perverted I am, think about this...for all its worth, right now, you know one more thing about me and my likings! ;)

4days Reservist

The old one.

The new one.

Just got the new camera bag for my camera from Crumpler yesterday at Wheelock Place for $169, co-subsidized by the Govt. So out you go, old camera bag!

Photo of dear by the bedside. =)

And the sickness comes after 1 day of IPPT, 1 day of weapon training and 2 days of shooting with the MP5 and Taurus. Gold, marksman and marksman. sweet. but i think i really need to train if i need to maintain the Gold for next year. Its getting tougher and tougher each year as my bones grow more and more brittle, breaths become heavier, the lungs feel like they are struggling to pump oxygen into my more and more fragile heart and more strength required to move extra inches of fats each year. 10 years of reservist. Goal: to squeeze 6000 bucks from you, GOVERNMENT!

hate

  1. hate it when i feel whatever i do is never enough.
  2. hate it when I dun get enough sleep. I neeeeeeeeeeed loads of sleep.
  3. hate it when its All Talk No Action.
  4. hate it when my car aint whitey white. (It happens quite often)
  5. hate it when people tell me things on hindsight. "If only I knew..." If only i know, i would be GOD. Nowadays, I call it "Ma Hou Pao" KaBooM!
  6. hate it when I have to WAIT for the episode... and then you finish the whole season and GREAT, now you have to wait for the NEXT SEASON.
  7. hate it when the force is strong and the dark side calls out, and no matter how hard you struggle, you succumb to the temptation.
  8. Especially hate it when I always never finish the goddamn task, whatever it may be.

NBA time.

"hmm...I thought there should be 10 points of hate? AH heck it, its NBA TIME." =)

Sunday, May 17, 2009

That evil smirk.

That one moment of pleasure:

  1. The car behind you trying to overtake you on the left, getting blocked by the car in front after getting on the next lane, and then having to "obediently" queue up back behind your exhaust again.
  2. You having watched one or more episode than your friend in any series and thus having the "God-I-know-All" feeling, knowing that you can feed them the spoiler anytime anyday.
  3. Tracing all the way back through all the emails to find the ONE part that shows that you are not the one that "screws things up".
  4. The "im the only good man on earth" feeling you get when you give up your seat to an old lady in a crowd bus/train.
  5. The high you get when you watch so many of a person's show/style that you know whats going to happen in the next scene. Read, Stephen Chow.
  6. The sense of satisfaction that you get after long hours of cleaning up and standing in front of your bedroom and saying "Wow, that's as clean and neat as it ever gets."
  7. Wearing a brand new shirt. You know it will never be as clean and smooth. Ever. Especially white-colored shirts.
  8. Waking up at 8 am in the morning. And knowing that you can sleep for 5 more hours.

Back home. Pack my room, sorted out my bills, etc. Put up my 2 photo frames on the wall. Clean up my closet. Throw away HEAPS of unwanted stuff.

OFFs

day one of 5 OFFs begins! to start it off~ SLEEEEEP~!! =)

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Throw life at me.

life gets more interesting when you cramped more stuff into it. Now that Division I bball is gonna be over come Sunday, its time to find new things to do and look forward to. Bangkok in June, weddings to attend (1x Malay and 2xChinese weddings in June), maybe diving in july.

When?

Life is worth living knowing that out of 364 days of gloom, the 365th day is the one day that make you feel really really happy that you are alive. But when is it? That's the question.

Tuesday, April 21, 2009

4 more days and happy birthday...

4 more days to...pay day~~
one year is short but 365 days feel too damn long~~
Anyway happy birthday to you-know-who again~ =)

Annoying stuff

Annoying stuff part ONE - The one of two thing man can never avoid has reached my doorstep. Tax. Good thing is, the bonus is just in time to "alleviate" the pain of paying taxes.

Annoying stuff part TWO - I was standing in line waiting for my toastbox coffee in VivoCity. In front of me was two school girls and the toastbox guys went --> A: "I think the girls are half koreans." B, turning to the girls,: "are you two half korean?" A to B: "I was just saying only lahhh.." and the girls took their drink and laugh lamely to the air and walk away.
Freak. Are they trying to pick up girls while working AND with such lame pick-up lines? Thanks for wasting 30secs of my life, dude...Just give me my coffee and i leave you to your lameness.

Annoying stuff part THREE - Im tired and sleepy and feeling lethargic. But im having bball trg in three hours time, night shift in six hours time and then another night shift tomorrow. God bless!

Saturday, March 21, 2009

what next?

I just recently finished 2 consecutive night shift and then my day shift today. finally...its my off-off and OFF~~ woot~! wat should i do wat should i dooooo? not much good shows lately in the cinema... maybe spend some time to wash my car, training and tennis tmr, meet up with frenz...slack...even though its 3 days of OFFs, it still feels short. snorts.

Sunday, March 8, 2009

again.

Sentosa~! The sun, sea and then the rain...

Division I Bball competition is coming soon in April. The team is in a not-so-good shape and relatively inexperienced as compared to before. Everything is still so in the grey now and from the looks of it, we are hanging around in the last 2 placing of the 8 teams on paper. No stamina to last, no aggressiveness to push through, no talent to negate the disparity. It's true we are facing a crisis. We need to do something to overcome this.

The dog...

New week. Monday to drop by in hall, if possible. Tuesday night shift. Wednesday Training. Thursday off, meeting PO for lunch, hopefully. =) and then maybe a date out with the girlfriend on thursday night and friday day shift followed by handball after that. Maybe get my friends to hang out after that for a drink or wat... Saturday Night shift and Sunday Training again. It's packed packed packed right now... =)
