What a mess!

my stuff is messy again... private maid, anyone? ahhhhhh....so messy...i think i need to spend one whole afternoon packing EVERYTHING...luckily my next cycle is VERY condusive for me to do something about it. Night -Off- Off -Night -Off -Off. heh...so many Offs! can do so many things!!!

Now that the season ended, its time to start looking forward again. Still unsure if i should carry on playing if things are going to be the same again...haiz...

Going to US is a costly affair... other than that, I'm really looking forward to my August trip. I doubt the new batch of newbies is coming in June, which means the possibility of having someone to take over my place after im gone in August is gonna be lesser... oh well...if you gotta go, you gotta go. they juz have to figure a way out... =)

Up and running!

At Starbucks now. enjoying my regular cup of Caffe Latte as usual giving Mr Tan Guan Hua his own Me-Time. hoho...getting used to such routine for the past few weeks on my off days. Come to Compass point (by bus/bicycle), go to library/Starbucks, 1x caffe latte, Wi-fi, my Forbes/Economist + a little dose of web-surfing. Sweet. Instead of making this only during my off days, I think i should extend it to my night shift days too, come at 10am, go back at 3pm, take a nap and then off to work! =)

AHhhhhHh...work's getting abit stagnant again...not any better given that its so busy now and its only the start of the peak period from now till September... In dire need of some new projects/rotation, its good that im starting to learn the ropes of being a duty manager, just hope that i get to rotate around soon enough...

Foreign Talents

Newpaper article today (7th May 2008): "Future Job Threat or Brillant Asset?"
[I have to do this to add a line between my paragraphs.]
- Given the influx of "foreign talent" into Singapore, how do you see the existence of these FTs affecting you? My friend and I were on the subject just a few days ago and he was dining at NTU canteen and the stall uncle asked him if he was from China. "NO!" The uncle said its harder to tell the PRCs apart from the locals now given that the PRCs are so "rampant" now in NTU. I guess its the same for NUS and other places... well...my friend was literally complaining about the fact that the PRCs are vying for the same places as him and other graduates alike...the anti-FTs sentiment is actually quite prevalent now more so than few years back before i entered UNI, especially those in the engineering and computing courses...but i was telling him if you are good, why do you have to worry about competition... but singaporeans are too pampered and spoilt to realise that you have to fight for what you want, the outcome of being hand-fed by the government...
[i have to do this to add a line between my paragraphs. AGAIN]
but i do not blame the government. im still pro-PAP. =) at least for now, for the fact that I may not be what I am if not for what our people before us who did what they did... sometimes i really wonder, what those anti-government people (only referring to those who only complain without reason...) would be if Singapore didnt become the way it is and was like other under-developed countries around us...they wouldnt be educated in the first place, living from hand to mouth.
[Someone tell me what i can do. im a HTML idiot]
oh well anyway i was saying...Singaporeans have a lot more to learn from the PRCs or all other international students coming to study in Singapore. we still have a long way to go. its not easy to come here all alone to study and work to support yourself and then at the same time, face some awkward criticisms from ignorant people who wants them to go back to where they are... come on, if you are not up to it, dun blame others to make urself feel good... its not as if you will do better without them around. heh.
[...]
Anyway, after a few weeks of self-thinking, survery and knocking around, i finally have a glimpse of what i wanna do and how i should start working towards it from now till 5-8 years time. its not gonna be easy and so, to learn from the PRCs, i just have to slog and put in 150% effort in order to achieve my goals. I'm feeling alot more LESS-burdened and more focused on what i wanna do...for HONOUR AND GLORY! =)

"For some people, shopping is much more than a pastime - it's actually an addiction called oniomania. While it may not seem like a dangerous addiction, many of the psychological characteristics of compulsive shopping are identical to those of chemical dependency."
- Oniomania - sounds like some onion mania or wat...haha...do you have friends like that? damn... the first person that comes to my mind is my ex...lol...she can tell me she bought a 100bucks dress in between lunch hours...mega SNORTS... that's like super impulsive buying!
Talk about impulsive buying - i do have an urge to buy my wireless mouse and keyboard...and a PSP...haha..but i guess i have little use for the PSP apart from playing Final Fantasy...
