Politics

After being in my company for so long, i have more or less figured out all the internal politics between different people, different fractions and levels. I still dun understand why people must second-guess other people's intentions. Second-guessing only causes doubts and suspicions and only serve to alleviate your own fears and doubts. It only acts as a tool to harness what you THOUGHT it is and supports your own stand and does nothing more than create negativity in the company. so why does people still indulge in this kind of activities? cos no one is ready to step up to say it out loud and make it clear to everyone that this is happening and everyone just know it is happening deep within themselves. and then everyone starts to gather their own fractions and allies and the tension grows between different fractions and to a point, it becomes a strain working in the company.
As always, i am always standing in the middle of both fractions. Cause i simply do not understand all these stabbing here and there. Lets all be candid and direct and say things out, cant we? i guess we cant really do that. If not there wun be any Holy War, World War and all the shit that is going on around... and somehow, it affects me deep down which made me rather..."down" since few weeks ago. Made me think about why im still here. Should i go or stay? What can I do here? Is this THE JOB for me? and then, suddenly it really hit me hard yesterday after hearing my colleagues talking about all these things and i really wonder why am I so concerned about all these going on around when I do not really stand on any sides...I am still me and all these things shouldn't really affect me at all cos im at ease with anyone in my company, even with THE ONE who they call her "it" in my company whom im still fine with if she does not step on my toes, which she always does.
So...
Let me change the things around here.
and after one more year, I shall see where all this leads to...

Bangkok Trip 2008

Our first day- first and last time on the BTR - On to Chao Phraya river!

The 8 of us - at Grand Palace.

The back view of 3 girls - never got to glimpse the front view. well...i guess its best to leave it that way... hahahaha....

The 4 young ones.
the view outside my hotel window - Silom Serene hotel

Me at some cafe at Chatuchak. Too hot! gotta get under some shade and have some iced coffee!

dunkin' Donuts!

Spoils of War.

Some Candies i got from Bangkok. =)

------------------------------------------------------------------
Generally on the whole, it was a good refreshing trip. Just dun really like the part where they come to Bangkok, they MUST eat thai food. If you are going to somewhere where they are selling authentic thai food, i will go with that. But if its just normal thai food, i guess anywhere will do. why do we have to travel here and there? not that our group is the most mobile of all, not when we walk around, we walk in an extended single file... my point is, if u are having normal thai food, just make do with it ANYWHERE NEAR...its not ANY different from those in Singapore. Heck, we can even have western food for all it matters. Oh well, my dad wants to let the leaders of the wolf pack to decide, so be it. i guess im the stray lone wolf in this pack. hurhur.
---
And then theres the weather. it was REALLY HOT! HOTTER than HOT! All of us literally melted under the sun. Water water and lots of water. No wonder they need the Song Khran Festival. Massive Ponding sessions!
---
Why do they claim that thai people are very friendly people when the taxi drivers and tuk tuks are so rude and tries to cheat tourists of their money? Why do they claim that when people go to Bangkok and they are given warnings repeatedly by airport/hotel staff and travel guides/guidebooks? Or maybe they meant they are nice, friendly people cos they WARNED you first before trying to cheat/steal your money? not that we were cheated/robbed of our money...but nearly...we wanted to go some seafood place and they send us to this seafood place that charged exorbitant prices and well, a couple of us have already been there done that and know that the drivers are given commission for bringing tourists here to get their "head chopped off" and so, we walked off and head back to our hotel to get some recommendation from the hotel staff. This is the fourth time i have been to Thailand, and if i were to say, people living in the city are not nice/friendly at all. Those living outside of Bangkok are probably much suited to the nice/friendly phrase.

Bom bom!

Went to watch Step Up 2: The Streets with my bro, sis and her bf. nice dancing hip hop action. typical storyline and a sweet girl. i like the last dance the most, kinda sensational and those that WOW you for the moment and the next moment you are like, what in the world did they do that wow you? this must be those live in the moment kinda thing. but boy can they really dance, twist and turn. if i were to do that, i would break a bone, chip a tooth and maybe kick someone in the arse. =)
Speaking of that, for those of you bored ones out there, you can try searching for Eddie Murphy in YouTube for some laughter. Those kinda oldies stand up comedy WHEN eddie was STILL young...i like the one he imitated Michael Jackson, Man he is a good impersonator. And Michael Jackson is still the best. All the moves and style. One of a kind. =P

Shoes.

Someone just asked me if i wanna buy this pair of shoes, shipping in from US. Hmm... temptation. hur...not to mention that i bought 2 pairs yesterday over the internet...
internet shopping IS A SIN!!!
oh myy god...should i buy? i think my shoe rack is running out of space soonz...haha...

Orchard Parade Hotel - Yesterday - cousin's wedding. Wedding is a tiring affair. the planning, executing and thereafter. just thinking about all it takes to get married tires one out. yawns. My little cousin, Sis and me.
My niece. 10 years old and weighs about 40 kg. Beat that. Her arms are thicker than mine, i think. haha...she sat besides me. Bad choice. Spent the whole night teasing her, telling her how fat she is and all the stuff that she puts in her mouth is gonna get her to the 50s in no time. and the more i say, the more she eats. LOL. her elder bro is so skinny...oh mans she must have ate all the food meant for her bro everytime. hurhur...

time

Somehow lately i am feeling rather depressed that i does not seem to have much time of my own to do wat i wanted to do...on one hand, i know its because i wasted too much time slacking around and on the other, i just feel damn lethargic to set about doing things...guess i shall need to take a few short moments to settle down and get down to doing things. oh well...somehow i dun really seem to have that much of a problem during my schooling time...hurhur...
---
hmph! nonetheless, im still feeling rather upbeat about everything in life and tomorrow, i shall pay a visit to the local library, get a haircut, do some alone window shopping and feel the atmosphere all around. hur. shall make 100% full use of my off day tomorrow before going back to work on Sunday.

cool!

Went to The Rock at Suntec City this morning for PSA's Singapore Terminals Annual Review 2008. Same old thing, all the lookback and outlook for the short and medium term. and then the most exciting piece of news everyone is waiting to hear - Bonus. hah. will be announce this coming Friday most likely. But we had a sneak peek, even with good growth etc, we shouldnt be expecting equivalent increase in our bonus. That's the message sent out. oh well... lets just wait for friday then. =)

went back home koonz after that and then went to PSA club for mgmt-union games. Bball. Mgmt team. Played against Port Union team. All the big shots in my team. haha...CEO, HODs, etc...lost by 2 points... damn it...but it was a good game all in all and time spent playing with all your big bosses. Precious. After that, still had a drink at the canteen to cool down and chit chat with the bosses. Cool! =)

For the love of the game...

one month left of training and Division I in April. Are we really prepared for the next level? Given the state we are in and the game we played yesterday against Siglap, it all doesnt look so positive. Even thought we won, but this is still a Division II level and distinctively, its rather obvious we are still hovering around that level. this one month we have better get much much better in order to have a good result at the end of the tournament. gotta love the game, gotta love the game...
