31st Dec 2007 - it's a ME day!

left house early in the morning for town. i went for a shopping spree ALONE...and i really spent alot. mega SNORTS...now i can really run very fast with the much lighter load on my pocket. oh well, i got my long-awaited wallet from Braun Buffel (decided to stop thinking whether or not to buy or not to buy). its SSS~! small, slim and simple~! i like~! =) spent quite abit at Kinokuniya after that (20% discount!) and some other miscellanous stuff at Watson's.

Did my own budgeting and my finances should resume back to normal in March, but then again, im going Thailand in March, which means it will have a dip again and hopefully recover in April. Meantime, I dun see any more HUGE expenses coming for these 3 months, so i should be able to control my spending...heehee...luckily, i dun have many Jan to Mar birthday frenz...LOL

Anyway, its really good to be on my own, its been really long since i have some alone time all day for my off day. and its the LAST day of 2007. wonderful day for me to go through the past year and also, look forward to the future! time to start from ground zero again and start the new year with a BANG!... at work... =D

2 more days to 2008

28th December 2007 (Friday)
(Pic: JX on my right and Kev on my left)
- Dinner with my buddies at Hard Rock Cafe followed by Zouk. was rather tired after work, nonetheless still drank the shots they offered...alcohol + long day + little sleep = shagness! Got to know 3 girls. 1 of them is JX's primary friend (I cant rem the name. HAH!) and guess what...her birthday is also 3rd Dec and interestingly, she's a SAJC lecturer wo...LOL the other two is Kev's friend, Celia and Celeste. Air stewardess i think. Actually i won't say "got to know", more like "got to say HI", afterwhich i retreated back to my own corner and stone. LOL. I think the average age at Zouk is 4 years younger than I am.. and I still dun understand the fun of chiong-ing, unless you are going out with friends and really let ur hair down and parrrty all night. oh well...first i cant really party with people who haven got their first hair shave (haven been through NS), maybe i should go those places with an older crowd, and second, alcohol doesnt really make me high, it makes me sick. haha. and third, its always better to go such places with some girls, i think. more fun. and much better than dancing with guys. hah. if you are there with a group of guys only, there can only be 2 reasons, ONE you are a loser going such places to drink alcohol, getting wasted, and waste ur life away, TWO, you are still a loser who just wants to oogle at girls, try picking them up and try your luck. P.S. BTW, Im not a loser. I go only for the sake of catching up with my friends. :p

My New Watch
- Given to me from my bro, sis and her bf. A Puma watch with a big face and a leather strap. A nice addition to my current collection of 3 watches as the other two is metallic strap. Cool!

And thanks to those who wished me happy birthday LATER. haha... its okay...better late than never~! still love ya guys~! Muacks! =D

26th December 2007

went for dinner with Qijun, Winson, Zichao, KJ, Kent, Darren, Yinghui and Joanna at this Cherie's Place outside Bugis Junction. Food there was decent, and we practically had the whole place to ourselves since there wasnt alot of people. Thanks for the celebration, which i really appreciate and I really like the present alot. Pics to be posted up soon once i get it from Jo!!!

***

Thanks to those who remembered and the well wishes. Thanks to Sharon who called at midnight sharp to wish me happy birthday and the surprise cake which i havent eat yet. and thanks to someone that i shant mention so that her head wun get swollen that called seconds after Sharon hung up. The calls really made my "night" and provide "comfort" in me for working night shift on X'mas Eve and X'mas. =)

last 8 days of 2007...counting down...

2007 is coming to an end soon. come to think of it, 2007 has been a major milestone for me in my life. my LAST IHG, last DND, last semester in NUS, teamNUS promoting up to Bball Division I league, getting my first job (its been 7months!), having my first RESERVIST, meeting up with "long-lost" friends, made many new friends too and so many many more. 2007 has really been a very exciting year with the ups and downs.
~~~
Given what a wonderful year i had, im now looking forward to 2008 with excitement and anticipation. Going to get my first company bonus (heh~!), going BK with my family, US in July, training/playing for Division I...and the other things i planned to do for the coming year. =)
~~~
Stay tuned for updates~!
~~~
For now, let me get through my double night shift tonight and tmr night. =D
MERRY X'MAS EVERYONE!
Those were the days...
Saw this in Alan's house during our gathering last Wednesday... ahhh...those were the days...looking at that really makes me miss those hall days...10 years down the road, i wonder if this kinda nostalgic feeling will still be around notz...and how will everyone be like? i think it will be really different to hear things like, "oh! XXX is married already, YOU KNOW? and YYY's kid is like EIGHT this year~!" hmmm....i can already imagine that...and that's when i know im OLD~! =D
I was on a 40-hour no-sleep marathon (again!) from Friday till last night...woke up on Friday at 11am and started doing my appraisal report for 2007 and went for work for night shift...went back NUS for Sheares handball friendly with the alumni and right after that, went to P.S to meet Sab for lunch and movie. We watched National Treasure II, part I is nicer somehow. =) I dunno how many times i fell asleep inside the cinema. LOL. Aircon, comfy chair, and no lights is bad combination for a sleepy head...each time that my eyelids met, they behaved like magnets. stuck. Had to make Sab give me a wake-up jerk to keep me awake~! :p
Sab posing with her favorite chipmunks!
after the movie, i went to orchard to meet my JC frenz...no matter how tired i was...its great to meet up with them, being a really long time...and its hard to meet up with everyone so busy and one of them overseas... and thanks to my fren for sending me back, i was back home around 11plus, cleaned up, settled down, watched my new korean serial "18/29" and then fall asleep at around 3. yawns...woke up this morning still feeling very tired... and its definitely not good to play ball in this condition...
My friends - us chilling out at Taka Coffee Club.
its time for some sleep~
my work-activities marathon, started since Thursday, has FINALLY ended~!!
now i can finally get some VALUE-ADDED sleep~!
phew~ i wondered how i survived that...
===
play-work-sleep-play-work-sleep cycle...i counted that i slept for 10-12 hours only over these 3 days... im so tired that i knocked out straight away on the train back home. but its nice being back hall for some exercise. lets hope theres SUN next week~~~
yay~ my off-off coming for my next 2 cycles before going back to hell week next week when my schedule gets heavy again.
ahhhh....no time to sit down and do my resolutions for the coming year and my to-get and to-do list...ahhhhhhhhh.............still gotta do my appraisal...my accident reports...blah blah...so many things to do, so little time left for the year...
Super Senior Barbeque 2007
15th December 2007
1900hours
Saturday
Venue: Block E Rooftop
-----------------------------------------------------
I think the number of times i have been out shopping, whether i bought any stuff or not, is definitely much much more than the previous 10months added up together. From January to October, the number of times i have been to Orchard is like...3 times? but i think i was frequent-ing orchard ALMOST every week since november~ woah tts a record~! and Im really looking around for clothes everytime i go out though i always go back with almost nothing on my hands. heh~! but i really really really want to have a major overhaul of my closet~ but i think that will only come when i start getting rid of all the clothes in my closet that i DON'T and SHOULDN'T wear...oh well...the major overhaul can come when i go America next year to see what i can get from there first... but i think a black/navy leather jacket now will be good...at least it will be some nice and decent for me to wear to work or go out and most of the jackets i have are more on the sporty side...=) i really like to wear jackets...always make sure i am wearing one for my night shift~! i guess with regards to things i wear on my body, apart from shoes, the 2nd item i like most are jackets...
Msia and the Heartbreak Kid
Went to m'sia with blub and sab today...i bought berms and books~~ =) Shun bian went to watch Heartbreak Kid. As usual, LOTS of cutting of scenes here and there...quite irritating...i dun understand why the m'sian or ppl who frequent cinemas in M'sia can tahan that...took away all the MEAT of the movies...If you want to go m'sia, make sure its for these few motives:
-
1) Hair cut/treatment/blah blah
2) Seafood - cheap cheap...
3) pirated DVDs/Games, then again u can get them online. =)
-
Other than that, I still prefer Singapore...oh yar the cakes are cheap and nice there, then again get them while u are there to do the above. if not, dun bother. =P
Thursday 6th dec 2007
My dog trying to sneak up on me this morning while im sleeping...
Yay~ i got Enchanted soundtrack~! support copyright~! =)
yay~ im done with all the presents shopping etc for all the bday ppl...AHHHH~~~getting presents for girls are so MAAAAA FFFFAAAAAN~~~
Watched Golden Compass today, feels somewhat like a little harry potter, lotr here and there...the girl have talent in acting, very convincing acting and nicole kidman is charming, as usual... storyline was fine, though there could be more action or twists added in the middle of the movie and somehow it felt like quite alot of details were being cut out from the story even though i have never read the book. =)
Movies to catch~! Dane Cook (stand up comedian) + Jessica Alba (chio bu) = Good Luck Chuck = must watch~! Will Smith's I Am Legend! Nicolas Cage's National Treasure! AVP2!
Back to work~
All the "Da Tous" trying to reduce their head size...
Siok Ee...no need stay so far away from the camera... =D
Me, and the 3 babes at Old Airport Road Hawker centre block No. 51. =)
***
Met up with Da Tou Cun at old airport road for dinner...nice dinner though we couldn't finish the food...im on a diet~~! muahahaa..tt explains my slim figure, huh girls? the tua huey was okay, I STILL CRAVED GEYLANG's Tau Huey~~~~~~
Us at Ice Cream Chef~!
***
Subsequently the girls decided to go to PO's house to visit her new doggie, S-N-O-W-Y... she's very cute but having a really bad sensitive nose these two weeks, i have better stay away from dogs...getting nose bleeds from rubbing and sneezing my nose too much these few days...and its damn uncomfortable...arghh....must be the stupid weather...
***
Ice cream at the Ice Cream Chef is rather good i must say and they serve a rather big portion~
***
Back to work then last night...everything feels abit lethargic...haha...after one freaking month away from work, everything took me an additional 2 secs to respond to...oh well, but its a good shift still...good rates, good productivity, NO ACCIDENTS and feels good to be back...but come friday i will need to get back my "feel" before i get questioned too much during meeting...
yawns...zzzly...
Nice?
-----
i was "loitering" around world of sports for 20mins thinking whether i should get it...109 with 15% discount...super tempting~!!! low cut, cloth texture, WHITE~!
-----
come to think of it, my ability to restrain myself from unnecessary expenditure is becoming better and better. yesterday i wanted to buy sony ericsson P1I, even got the queue number, but in the end, i went back home. decided that it was not worth it. not that my current phone is faulty or giving me any problems... =)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Our lives have taken us in so many directions since we first became friends,
and yet our friendship has remained a lasting bond
that keeps us from drifting too far apart.
We've been there for each other in good times and bad,
with support and sympathy, laughter and love.
As I think about our friendship, I realise it is one of the things I cherish most about my life...
And today, I just wanted to be sure you knew it too"
- Dorothy R. Colgan
------------------------------------------------------------------------
end of the year...while many companies are doing up their monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual report at this period of time, its time for my own financial budgeting and allocation for the coming year 2008. no51's very own financial framework is almost up and running~! hope to get everything settled before 2008 arrives~~~ and then comes the nagging from my mother. outdated thinking. i just gave a half an hour lecture to my sis on finance yesterday and told her not to learn from our mother. haha...put in bank to save money? with inflation projected at 3% next year, what can the interest rate from banks give? i nearly vomitted blood explaining to my mum, so i decided practical facts are always the best. i will show it to her. =)
1st December 2007
Waiting and waiting...for the last event for the whole 18days - mock up exercise
The one on the left - the joker cum troublemaker of my troop.
Every unit surely will have some jokers and some troublemakers around...and normally these are the ones that will be influencing the others and managing these kind of people is normally a VeRy tricky and difficult task...not to mention that this is reservist and everyone's thinking is quite negative about coming back to fulfill this obligation. so well... and it didnt help that we had full-time NS inspectors watching over us...sense of defiance over the place and being caught in the middle, i can feel the air of hostility flying here and there between the top and the bottom...oh well...same ol' prob of top not looking at the btm's pt of view and vice versa and once it starts, it snowballs and an avalanche starts. *rolling rolling* and the 17th day really shows it all, our mock up exercise, ppl are sluggish, slow, grumpy...things really could be better and sometimes i feel i could have done a better job...oh well...rank-wise, they are higher so u cant really over-step and undermine their authority infront of others. but i do have to admit that i kinda let my unit cross THE line a little by not instilling more discipline in them. =)
my unit - SSU (service and support unit)
Well...on the whole, this ICT is, i must say, quite fun and fruitful for me. While other people find it a disruption in their daily routine and whats worst, the need to stay in-camp for almost 3 weeks, i find it to be a rather good break from everything and it gave me some "alone" time to think about what I wan to do...kinda thought through wat i may wan to do for the next 5 years or what are my options for the near future like... going overseas to study + working overseas at the same time...see whether PSA is able to send me to one of their overseas port for more exposure and at the same time, use that opportunity to further my studies...if not, i may have to source for job opportunities over there myself...oh well, all these are tentative and maybe i will stay on PSA, maybe i will have other opportunities...we'll see...at least as of now, i think im a LITTLE bit refreshed and ready to go~~~
To end it on a high note...END OF ICT YEAR I, IX more ICTs to go~! yay~ 600bucks more in my bank account as of 7minutes ago...ah gong gave it to me...=) and 2008 is coming~!!! time to set some NEW YEAR resolution!!! get myself settled down, do some self-reflection and ready myself to start dashing forward~! climb to greater heights, better myself, stay fit, stay healthy, and cherish my time here on EARTH~ MUAHAHAHA~~!
Saturday out~~
***
After getting much rested at home for the first half of Saturday, i went to Orchard for some shopping and met up with my troopers for dinner at NYDC...guess what i had for dinner? Salad... din had much of an apetite which im glad i didn't eat much later on...
Randy, Jinhong and me. i get red easily. =D
went to Zouk and the crowd didnt start streaming in till 2330hours, by then me and some others already decided to leave and head towards New Asia Bar at Swissotel, which my friend's friends are working there. so we went in free and all drinks were on the house. dammit. which means i had quite a fair bit...a big glass of lychee martini, a few cups of redbull greygoose vodka and one freaking "graveyard", which wasn't finished up cos for sure i will black out after that. my other friend got "waterfall" and "flaming lamborghini" at a go...when i left, he was already half in the other world...and thats why im glad i didnt had anything much beforehand cos i was swallowing my own saliva to keep myself from puking...having a full stomach would have done it...haha....
Lychee martini. =D
Actually we wanted to get the back view. view from the 70th floor of Swissotel but we couldnt. the one beside me is one of our 3 NS inspectors, supposed to supervise my team. haha...its his virgin night out and i think he seen pretty lot for a first timer...what alcohol can do to people...
***
By the way, the 3 inspectors in our unit are all still serving their NS currently, which makes them the youngest among all of us. so it makes things harder for them when it comes to giving command and sometimes, what works in NS time doesn't work anymore for reservist. asking for strict discipline, sense of urgency...not that easy...give and take mah...u wan to do ur job, we wan to get thru it...
End of ICT week 2
End of week 2 ICT...blink one more time and its the end of my in-camp training. things are going very well this week, had my trial shooting on Thursday --> Marksman! Maintain this form on Monday and i will be able to squeeze another 200 bucks from "Ah Gong". =D
---
AND Yub! I gotten my GOLD for IPPT yesterday~! YESSSSSSSH~~~! 400 bucks in my pocket from "Ah Gong"~! 2.4km timing 9.39mins. phew~! 6 more secs and I would have gotten 200 bucks lesser. On statistics, our unit on the whole only achieve a 38.6% percent pass and I'm the only who got gold...LOL no wonder Head Training promised a nights off if we can get a 60% percent pass...zzz...thats way off~!
---
And being the OC SSU, everytime we need to clear arms after our exercise, i need to give commands to the whole troop and do the weapon declaration...sianz...next week gonna do another 2 rounds...our mini-protection exercise of key installation coming up on Wednesday, so exciting~! gonna use blank rounds to fire around...muahaha~!! stomp the front~! but i guess i wun be so much on the ground since i need to prepare the food and the armoury for the troop...damnit~~
---
December is going to be very siong~~ work schedule already pack pack and my schedule planner for the senior staff anyhow make me take my leave...ma de...and i think i go back first day sure cock up alot...too long never go back, lost touch liao...haha..oh well...just look forward to 25th Dec, see how much bonus i can get~! hahaha... hopefully have....=P
1st week of camp...COMPLETED!
My view of the barrack from where i sleep.
---
Camp...was quite fun~! refreshing stuff that we are learning~ all the HK MP5 weapon training and physical training in the afternoon...now i feel that im getting back my shape and a liiiiiiittle bit of conditioning, though getting GOLD for my IPPT is still a big big challenge... oh well...just try my best~! =)
The view outside from my bed. At night its really kinda dark...
---
Instructors were funny during lessons, very much different from the first impression. !#$#$# and !@$#! all coming out of their mouth before you even see them appearing in your sight, but when it comes to lesson time, the ah-beng-ism do bring about funny moments... now I know what PFM stands for...anyone cares to guess? PFM --> please fuck me --> meaning: doing/saying something that is asking for people to fuck you upside down. in short -> asking for it.
---
Next week --> Night shooting Thursday followed by IPPT in the morning the very next day. sure will not have enough rest, given that we are gg to come back late from safra shooting range and then to return the weapons to the armoury. damn.
and we are going to do tactical movement/searches/leopard crawl (like what the instructors say, we are going to use our body to mow the field for them), stuff you see in movies. hehz. stomp the room~! gonna be physically challenging...
Friend's wedding at Chjmes Hall.
---
After i book out on Saturday morning, went back home, changed, and came right back out for my friend's wedding at chjmes...all the usual christians singing and amen's throughout the ceremony and then came the most important part of the event: lunch. Ops~! i meant, the solemnization. LOL. Sharon asked me, "was the bride beautiful?" I said, "brides of course are beautiful." on wedding day, of course they are beautiful. but in marriage, maybe not. LOL. anyway, i kinda like what the pastor said, "Wedding is for just one day, but marriage is for a lifetime." =)
I bought another cap~! =)
---
After the wedding reception, we parted our ways and i went for my window shopping~ alone~! I really like to do my own solo shopping, no need to go to places i dun wanna go in...no need to stop and rest if i dun wan...no need to carry on walking if i dun wan...no need to worry about so many things...just me and me. =) went to adidas and saw the white cap and decided to buy it~! HAH~! i shall collect all these adidas caps, same model but different color! bought some mags to bring in camp to entertain me and a book on Sun Zi's war strategies and some other stuff...im like a beast unleash from its chain yesterday... =) booking in today~~~gonna go back in more prepared than last week...laptop, mags and not to forget - Miss Foo's MP3 that accompanied me throughout last 5 days in camp. =D
life is good.
back to school for bball yesterday... its good to join in the hall training, although i didnt went thru the whooooole training cos I am OLD, but it felt good. tired muscles, dripping sweat like I have just been thru the rain, the heavy breathing and of cos, the feeling of playing the game. Just like ol' times...good~! woke up this morning with aching muscles and all, haha...well at least i'm feeling that im in a more decent shape than before...shall go shoot some hoops later under the nice warm cosy sun. please dun rain. =D
Suddenly finding some energy to do more work, work-wise and personal-wise. its a good sign. its been a long while that I felt this way. =) one thing is that I managed to get quite a few people to meet up over the whole of next week, not to mention the number of things on hand to fill it up to the brink. *happy happy*
Sunday, October 28, 2007
2more cycles
2 more cycles and I will go for reservist le! woot! lets hope its something to be happy about~!
Going back NUS for bball later...get some workout~ sweat it out~ come back zzz~~
I've been on an unlucky streak lately~ accidents and accidents~~ damn~~ now i have quite a few reports to do before i go for my reservist. lets hope its "shun shun li li" for now till end of next week... =D
Thursday, October 25, 2007
ol' times.
was having breakfast with my mum the other day and she was talking about the old days...and then i realise something...next time when someone is getting married and you planned on giving the couple something...better make sure its SIGNIFICANT...
...
cause my mum can remember exactly WHO gave WHAT...
LOL
she can tell me this aunt gave the fridge, that one gave the TV, this one gave the what and what...its either she is bullshiting or she has a really good memory...i choose to believe the latter one...guys will never get it, do they? how can women remember things so well? =D
Monday, October 22, 2007
woot one helluva scoring shift.
wah my day shift yesterday was the best i ever had since i was here from June. No major incidents, managed to siam one accident report, freaking good crane rate with very decent productivity. lets hope its the same tonight. =)
Shall be buying "chuan bei pi pa gao" to work and get high on it for my night shift. bad cough, evil germs wreaking havoc inside...maybe i can go to the doc and get myself a one day MC and skip my not so needed standby day. hah.
I just send out an email informing boss that I will be going for a 28days reservist. I wonder how they will react. hurhur.
Saturday, October 20, 2007
the week ahead...
P.S KJ: I'm not belittling India or what, k? it's just that they are at the wrong place at the wrong time pissing the wrong person. hahaha...I have nothing against them.. like today on my way home on cab, theres this Indian girl cycling, trying to juggle the bicycle with just two legs. Its so stupid cos its so dangerous as any car would have come out of the small road and knock her down. I'm not saying shes stupid, you know???
...Just that MAYBE shes not SO clever as to realise that in the event the driver never notice her, she will not be able to react in time and steer the bike to safety when she does not have her hands on the handle bar? Am I right? the funny thing is she actually used her hands to stop us when its so clear that the taxi would be out of her way before she even reached where we were, given her speed. The driver still gave way anyway and we waited while we watch the clown juggling in front of us. I'm not sure if i heard the driver gave a smirk though I seemed to have heard that. LOL.
you wanna do that, do that somewhere that will not cause trouble/hindrance to others... =P
The week ahead~
Sunday - day shift
Monday - Night shift
Tuesday - Sleeping off - RUN!
Wednesday - Standby, go back NUS for hball
Thursday - day shift
Friday -night shift
Saturday - sleeping off - RUN!
Sunday - Off
Needa start running to prepare for my IPPT in November. must get GOLD. 400bucks. I think my colleagues gonna hate me for going for reservist for 28 freaking days.
lousy shift
lousy day shift i had yesterday....so bad i din really feel like writing any shift report at the end of the shift...so i was in a kinda bad mood when i left...and anything that looks stupid pissed me:-
---
1)there was this group of non-singaporean indians entering the lift as I am. Being in a bad mood, I just stood at the back of the lift. They entered and for ten seconds, that stupid bunch pressed nothing, staring into space. and then they figured they need to press something. SNORT. they pressed level 1. WTF. we are AT LEVEL 1. MEGA SNORT.
---
2)thats not the best yet. we reached B1. got out of the lift. they turned left. to get on the escalator. that brings them back to the same level/place we came from. its so obvious they needed to turn right to go to the MRT. I guess they have no lift or basements in India.
---
3)Going down the stairs on my way home, theres this lady who walked down the stairs at a slow speed compared to mine and she was using the middle lane...zzz...its not like shes a bamboo stick that I can squeezed past. zzz... cant she just KEEP LEFT? million of little things that annoyed me when i get in a bad mood.
Sunday...
its a sunday...went out to watch Resident Evil with my friend yesterday after work...horror show was never my cup of tea, just accompany him to watch... typical scares and not that fantastic action...just watch it on vcd when it comes out, dun bother gg to the movies. 2stars. =P
work work...
After one week plus of independence, things are picking up...more freedom, more things to do...and really alot of things to do...so much so that the day just went past like that... Normally for Day shift i will sleep from 12-5am and go for work, wun feel tiredness or such as I would be so bz at work until I finished work at about 830 to 9pm (if NOTHING happens!). and I get to go out late late if i want since i am not working the next morning. and then night shift no boss around, "eng eng cheng cheng" "you jing wu sian, you dao qi dian..."(meaning: have shock but no danger, seven oclock it is again) as what my colleagues always say... =D
Well, relationship with my junior officers in the control room is getting better than before and thats a good thing. when you initially step into the control room, people were not so friendly. afterall, people come and go. so its good that people are starting to warm up to you.
work-wise, operations...there are 1000 and 1 ways to run your shift and each person's style differs, some go for this some go for that and what you do today may be different from the next depending on your junior officers' style and ability, your bosses' wants, the types of vessels and operations and your MOOD. so sometimes, you can sit back do nothing and the shift scores, other days you fight fire like mad and you still get f**ked up scores at the end of your shift. LOL
Eventful week.
Blubber in her "SIA" uniform - at Club Plush for my friend's opening on Friday.
Of course this is not club Plush, its the coffeeshop outside la...and she never bring IC so i stayed outside with her... LOL
My dog, Vitto, sleeping comfortably on my sofa. He really knows how to enjoy life. He didnt even move abit when i took the pictures. He was looking at me, saying, "see what see? never see a dog sleeping on a sofa before ah?" =D
Woah~ its been a week since i posted and i didnt realise it. seems like the week just zipped by without me realising. went for my reservist briefing on Friday and since the inspectors for my troop are not coming back for the In Camp training in November, I had to take over the troop come Nov in camp. mega Snort. and that means another 3 days of briefing before 9th, extending my reservist from 9th Nov - 29th Nov to 6th Nov - 29th Nov. ARRRRRRRR... i think my colleagues are so going to hate me...but it will be a really long break from work for me, plus i will get to save ALOT of money since its IN CAMP and i only book out on Sat and go back on Sun. HOHO... SAVE SAVE SAVE...
And that means i also gotta start training up for IPPT to get GOLD, another 400bucks! and MARKSMAN, another 200 bucks!!! WOOT!
Saturday, went for my colleague's wedding dinner...I'm 100 bucks lesser after the hongbao!!! and I guess this is the first of MANY MANY MANY more wedding dinner to attend since my age group friends are all reaching the get-married age.
Sunday, went Vivo to watch Death at A Funeral with Jun and Winson yesterday after my bball in school. Was deciding over watching this or resident evil...although i havent watched resident evil yet, but i think Death at a Funeral is much better than resident evil. Its kinda like a comedy revolving around a funeral. Nice comforting ending, funny actors, interesting plot...well maybe the start could have went been abit faster, i nearly fall asleep for the first 10mins with the hard-to-catch accent of the British. 4stars!
for one more day...
hoho... finished "one more day" by Mitch Albom within two days...its quite a meaningful book, tho its concept is something like his previous book "the five persons you meet in heaven". so i wouldnt say its gonna be nice for those looking for something new....but its still a nice meaningful book remindering a person to cherish one's own life and LIVE IT TO THE FULLEST!!!
Its gonna be a 2 nights shift for tomorrow and the day after...yawns...shall pay my sleep debt today before i accumulate more of it...
~~
I bought my new bag!! =D
That's because the one i bought in Hongkong is spoilt.
$75 in Bugis Junction. Woot~!
A prayer for you.
Supposed to meet my friend for dinner on Thursday, but he couldnt make it on Thursday. Ended up he had to send his GF to hospital.
~~
This evening he gave me a call and said his gf is in critical condition. Pneumonia. WTF. went str down to the hospital to give him some support. One cant help but wonder why one can be so strong and healthy one day and then be doing battle with death the next day? In the room, watching all the tubes and such all over her body, I really cant find any words to say to her apart from the usual, "hang on there..." and the likes. Its even worse that you cant say anything to those watching the person on the bed cause nothing really helps apart from the silent support.
~~
Just got home from the hospital, sucks that i have to work 5 hours later. Really wanted to stay there to give him some support. Right now, I can only give some prayers and hope for the best for him and her.
~~
And my friend was telling us that all along, he thought he was not taking his gf for granted and i know he doesnt take her for granted. Just that he spends alot of time on archery too. but then all of a sudden, when this happened, it seems to him that maybe afterall, the time given to her was too little compared to archery. He made her a promise that he would quit archery if she can pull through.
So, please let him have a chance to make all these right again.
All alone...
All alone...from saturday onwards~ YESH~ Im referring to my job. I will be on my own come Saturday~~ and to cap it off, next week onwards im going to work in a new group, new shift manager and hes well known of being tempermental and extremely blunt. my boss already brought me to one side to prep me for any highly potential sarcasm, scolding, or whatever that will be thrown at me.
~
Bless me then
~
Well at least i can get to do some independent work~ Sad thing though as I feel my current group would be much better, cos at least there is something common with my other partner in the current group. Anyway, "Sky down dun have no scatter DE feast." And I predict theres going to be more shuffle come Nov and I would be going for my 3 weeks ICT in NOV~~~ cant wait cant wait...cos once my ICT is over in NOV, it wil be DECEMBER, my sweeeeeet DECEMBER~~~~ =D
Here comes October~~
running around the whole day today...went to VivoCity to buy mooncakes,walk around and then to science park to pass the moon cakes to sharon's mum. =) back to school to return my academic dress and then i decided to give the new arts canteen a visit. looks abit too spacious...maybe its because there wasnt as much people as normal school days. had lunch at burger king and guess what? i can see damn clearly Pasir Panjang Quay cranes and ships from the view there.
Back to Sengkang Compass point to have a haircut, i think the person cut it too short~~ damnnit~~ =(
this coming October--> must curb my spending~! control control~!
王力宏.:.[我们的歌MV].:. 完整版
Hey dearie, this song is dedicated to you. its your Lee Hom. the lyrics quite nice too. =)
field soccer...
Why do people like to play field soccer? i dun understand...street soccer is much much nicer, fast paced, more skills involved, everyone can defend and attack and the playing field is much smaller. played field soccer yesterday with my PSA colleagues in a friendly match... oh manz it is tiring to run up and down the field...im FEEELING OOOOOOOOOOOLD~~~ need to start training up, drill and condition...
---
Why do people have the thinking that I am going to quit my job? hurhur... I AM NOT~! =D I may be on a low right now, but that aint gonna mean im going to quit~had a talk with my boss, or rather a scolding from him...kena scolded until "chou tou"(smelly head)...but i think its a good wake-up call...all the doubts and unsure feelings that i am having these past weeks seemed to disappear into thin air after the scolding. the scolding really came at a good time. =)
~
I have always believed in having passion in whatever you do and that if you are not happy with your job, you might as well quit early than waste your time and other people's time as well. Today, this belief i always thought i have strikes me all the more harder after the scolding from my boss. I think all these can be summarised in one question. "Does passion lies in the kind of job you like or finding it in the job you have?" If your answer is the first one, why not ponder over this --> "How long can you last doing something you like?" For most of the past things i thought i like to do, most of it have faded away with time...when you reach the top, the place you wanna be, the job you want to have...what does it leave you with? i read an article on this and people who reached the place they want to be too early often find themselves wondering what to do next.
ECP and thereafter...
went for ECP outing on sunday~~~ me, jun, marcus, caroline, esther, hengfai and winson...not bad an outing... =) we cycled and i guess the highlight of the day would be the crazy photos we took over there...crazy shots...crazy but fun...im too lazy to upload...maybe i will do it once i get the photos from esther and marcus too... =D
Got caught in the rain halfway while returning to return the bikes, me and caroline...cos we stopped to watch some acrobats performed. *pit pat pit pat* the rain hit against our skin and eyes while we fought through it...cycling in the rain --> *cool!!* literally and figuratively and whatevertively...
went out to watch Rogue Assasin after work today, just got back from Vivo. wanted to watch hairspray but some of my colleagues doubt its nice and wanted to watch this Jet li show, which i had a big gut feeling its not going to be very good...true enuff..its freaking NOT nice~~~
i give it THREE out of FIVE stars...one star for FINALLY having a TINY twist at the end and then ending it stupidly and ONE star for being the first movie that i ever felt like OR almost slept through it in my entire movie-watching life... and THE THIRD star for sitting 3 seats away from Wong Lilin and her hubby Alan Wu. I thought i saw a rather pretty Mrs Wu but my fren who sat besides her said ...ermm...some unknown girl who walked behind us would have been prettier than Mrs Wu...hmmm...i shall keep that pretty image of Mrs Wu with me and not let him taint that picture...LOL...
~~
dun even think of downloading it, please.
Spike in my spending curve. =(
And it all started from Wednesday...Dinner at Sakae at Funan Mall - sushi buffet~! feed myself to the max~! get back every inch of my cents and dollars~ muahahaha~! We went to Timbre after that to chill out and Sarah joined us. Not bad a place to chill out and we ordered heinken~ its a wednesday night and i think most of the people went to clark quay to chill out or MOS, St James or Zouk to party, which explains why it wasnt THAT crowd. I guess everyone there just wanna chill and surprisely, we weren't covered in smokes which is the number one thing i hate about these places...
Chilling out at Timbre~
Anyway, the reason for the outing...i guess...would be to celebrate Jun's bday...he is lucky to have escape a deadly ponding session. will give him one time "jialat jialat" next time he is in hall. LOL. we left the place about 2300hrs and I got home after midnight. yawns...and i gotta work the next day @ 0730hrs. =D
Sarah, Esther and Caroline.
Lau Qijun @ 50% smile.
Lau Qijun @ 100% smile.
Yes...Lau Qijun's smile is the same all the way after trial and error @ different percentages. I would expect the same smile when he gets his ass ponded. LOL
And it was a dunno-whats-going-on day at work yesterday, especially after lunch yesterday with the system having some lag time from Singtel and everyone running around in control room. felt like a war zone yesterday...
after work, joined my colleagues for dinner at CARNIVORVE @ VivoCity. freaking hell its expensive. not very worth it as you get VERY full within a few slices of meat. Meat lovers would really love it there and i suggest you try the salmon...in fact, JUST take the salmon. its the best dish there and its not very filling, which will make it worthwhile. I may sound like a miser but i believe you will do the same if the freaking meat buffet costs you SGD 44! and i had like only 10 slices of meat and im full~! each slice cost you a meal's worth of food. But i guess the only thing good that anyone can get out of it is the get-together with your colleagues and listening to all the gossips going on. LOL.
Savouring the moment...
Last night, went back to attachment under someone...my previous upper-study...got pissed off 2 times by her... First time, i left office to take statement, ship's sailing time very tight, i come back she told me, "ship's sailing time so tight already you still go and take statement~!" I was like, "what the f**k, you are looking at it, the supervisor also looking at it, you need a third pair of eyes for WHAT?" Ridiculous. As if i look at it I can be magneto and magically place all the containers on board vessel in one second. This is call knowing ur staff's capability. I see the one doing is a good supervisor. Just let him settle it, why go and do double job? Even Zhehao (my partner for the other section) who overheard her wants to laugh...
---------------
Second time, at 5am i already told them im going for safety inspection. and after i came back, she said, "oh finally you want to come back already ah?" wah lan! freaking feel like slapping her...its not like i go out to slack or what...farking ridiculous...no wonder others dun think so highly of her, what kinda work attitude is that? told me to set priority, i think her priority needs to get set first. Pui. Zhehao told me he will slap her if its was him just now. LOL.
---------------
I still prefer handling the shift myself. Thursday shall go back and tell my boss. =)
Independent...
Today my upper-study took MC. So i run the Section on my own.
~~~
Exciting? yes!
~~~
Stressful? Oh hell YESH~!
~~~
not when the shift manager is well known for screwing people upside down... my usual shift manager changed shift for today...mega SNORT...
and one really really have no time when you are on your own...how are u supposed to keep track of your section performance when alot of exceptions crops up? thats some thing i really need to master asap. well in any case, time really flies when you are on ur own and focused. theres so many things you can do that i think i better get organised or something...and not to mention, the usual after-work paperwork...and *touchwood* accidents...
In any case, its meet-the-SVP tomorrow before going for my night shift. lets hope he make it short and sweet so that I can go back office early to finish up the paperwork... =) and after that? it's 2 days of off~~~ hmmmmm =D

love it or not...

oooh...played 'dai di" until 3plus 4am this morning, slept for 2 hrs and wake up and off to work i went... yawns... not so bad since im on standby and its the weekend today...no bosses, own time own target...good time to clear all my mails and reports... yesh... was thinking on my way back about my job, already have a few friends who changed job after working for just a while. what seemed so optimistic at the start ended up to be...not-so-good afterall. so what about me? i also can't figure it out left right centre. ups and downs, pros and cons, excitement versus stale-ness... For now, let's just stick by the "passion in whatever you do" rule. so I NEED TO GET, FIND, GRAB, DIG, HUNT, PURSUE or DO WHATEVER to get the passion for the job and let time speak for itself. Gotta do it while im still feeling positive about the job...ARRHRRHRHHHHH~~~
---------------------------------
In any case, I send out a few SMSes to a few long time friends whom i haven't contacted...and I'm glad I did that...its really nice to know that people are still concern about what's going on in your life and that I still have stuff to talk to them about... well... ended off on a "catch up soon" note...now let's see how I will go about doing that... okie set! by end of october, i shall finish meeting up all those i set out to meet up! shouldn't be that hard lah hor... =)

New toys~! =)

I bought my camera~! casio exilim Z75~~ package deal at Vivo City, although the deal's supposed to be done by 2nd September, i think they extended it. taken a few shots around, its definitely better than my old one and plus, it's smaller and lighter~! Anyway, i bought it so that i can use it at work. whenever theres accident i can just bring my own camera and not use the company's camera, so that i can bring the pics back and upload instead of doing it in the office. hurhur. plus i really should have one of my own...if not, everything also share in the house, sometimes its just not that convenient. But then again, it means that im really broke this month.
=(

My second toy~~~ ta da~~~ its the Rubik's Cube. I can solve the first face (the white face) within 2 mins now. =) It's the first step to solving the cube, although the first step is really really simple, but it takes practise~! practise~~! after i can do it in one min, i will go on to the more difficult steps with logarithms~! next time, i shall solve the cube within 5 mins~! for a start~!

Yesterday, I left my office about 9.30pm after my day shift, waiting for my colleague to finish his incident report and we went to Carl's Junior for dinner...3 of us...its quite nice although it was supposed to be a bigger outing as most of those from our batch are working on the same day. one girl fly aeroplane, the other has to work Day again this morning, so left only 3 of us. well we were talking about our KPIs for ourselves, one was saying his KPI is to come work at 7 and go back at 8, max of 14 hrs, which he missed his KPI yesterday. the other one was to make sure he doesn't bring his work back home to do...well actually i didn't really thought of one for myself...what's my KPI?

---------------------------

Work's suddenly gotten abit back on track after talking to my fellowmates yesterday, although some of our views differ but i can see that there are comrades on the same line as I am, fighting in the war. Chiong ah~~~! In any case, gonna be a busy weekend for me running around~! =)

off-off

yay~! my off-off coming up~!!! tonight night shift~~~then off off~~!!! yippee~! cant wait...haven really plan what to do this coming off...
...oh yar...need to study...sianz...mega SNORT...
--
anyway ratatouille was rather good, just that there's nothing much about COOKING if thats what you are looking for. like nemo wasn't about fishes, ratatouille ain't about cooking...but theres really alot of rats...it really look kinda disgusting when you see so many rats scrambling around. LOL.
--
would have hope that the movie outing was longer though...stupid soccer made me have to have it later, and then last min opponent cannot make it. PUI-EeEEee~!!

Thursday, August 30, 2007

Its almost 3 months since i started work...hmmm...really feels like a rollercoaster...and sometimes i just lose track of where i am and what i am here for... i guess it takes a little bit of discipline to constantly evaluate your situation, thinking and there-after, if not, i think everything will just zip by you without meaning or cause.
so Mon/Tue is my off day --> shall use these two days to start studying for my "test" on 6th Sep and also reflect on myself, relationships and career...well i guess mostly i have to re-evaluate myself and career...
OH and i just downloaded my fav PC game of all time and i am very sure it brings back dear dear memories to those who have played it...it seems like there are alot of people who played it and remember the times when you are just doing the same thing over and over again just to level up your main character so that he can have the most powerful move in the game..yesh, the game is 金庸群侠传.
Now I finally found the game~ after a hard time of searching high and low and failed downloads, its here~hours of addiction again...
and where's the Ratatouille movie, PO?? =(

Welcome back to the world of Ponding...

Monday 20th August 2007
.
.
Back to school for IBG track opening...Well done Eekers for clinching 2nd for both girls and guys titles~! As usual, it was worth it to go all the way back to watch qijun burned the lap and shorten the leap by Block B from 100 metres to 5 metres...*high*
.
.
and then its back to hall for block comm supper cum block election.
.
.
and the highlight of the day...

MARCUS

and you think we forgot all about P.O.N.D.I.N.G you!? haha...with the help of your darling Janelle...IMPOSSIBLE is NOTHING! Thou Shalt Naught post too much obscence photos here. Those who are hungering for some juicy photos can grab them at

http://www.kinkymarcusgottiedup.com/. and we are not the one who tied him up wor... This photo was taken in Janelle's room in KR...hmm...how did he get tied up with a bunny's ear? hmmm...so kinky....

.

.

Subsequent ponding of other people around starts after Marcus was freed. The first freshman to get pond-ed is Zhenxin. Welcome to level SIX. and then all the others around...Hianyi, Qijun, Mingfeng, Darren and Kent...noticing the start of the frenzy, i retreated back and hanged around level 5 and 7, ocassionally peeping back to check out whether they are done. LOL. I think Yinghui filmed down the ponding profile of all the individuals. For viewing, please look for Yinghui/Darren for the clips. =)

.

In any case, Happy Birthday once again to Marcus. Hope you wun miss it when you are in Japan. We held it in good faith as we are worried you will miss being pond too much in Japan. =D

Yawns...i slept from 9+pm to 9+am...shiok...although i was awakened by the deafening sounds coming from my sis and her noisy frenz at around midnight...but still managed to grab a good deal of sleeping time.
------------------------------------------------------------

I will not forget ur chubby cheeks too, PO~! LOL

Muahaha...i shall dedicate this post to PO for telling me that she will not forget me... *touched* *touched*

well...of course i shall dedicate the rest...to the rest lah...dun wanna get struck by lightning~!
shall dedicate this song to you people~~

Once upon a time there was a tavern...
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours...
And dreamed of all the great things we would do?
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way.
La la la la...
Those were the days,
oh yes those were the days
Then the busy years went rushing by us
We lost our starry notions on the way
If by chance I'd see you in the tavern
We'd smile at one another and we'd say....
Those were the days my friend
Just tonight I stood before the tavern
Nothing seemed the way it used to be
In the glass I saw a strange reflection
Was that lonely woman really me?
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end...
Through the door there came familiar laughter
I saw your face and heard you call my name
Oh my friend were older but no wiser
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same....
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
- Those were the days by Mary Hopkin

I'm a survivor~~~

I survived my night shift! LOL.
went back to school to sell my textbooks yesterday, I sold THREE! yay! and played bball with the Eekers from 1545hrs to 1830hrs...I was super tired and was like, "I'm going to die this night shift." haha but i survived~!
Saw someone familiar yesterday while i was at YIH...should be...
Had a glimpse as we walked past each other and she kinda turned around and I guess she was wondering who I was too...well, of course we never stopped in our footsteps and just carried on walking...if i see her online, maybe i will double confirm whether its her...
It's so sad when it comes to this stage when you dunno or can't recognise a person.
Will you forget me as time flies past?? It takes effort to keep a relationship, that's why I'm like going out every day i'm not working to meet up with friends...
shall take a rest today and maybe tomorrow and have some alone time to consolidate and settle down everything..my to-study notes are piling up...and without realising, my theory test is just less than a month away...better get down to mugging...abit...LOL...GOOD NIGHT! love ya peeps~!

The day Sheares Won Rag...

Congratulations to Sheares Hall for bringing back the long-coveted Chancellor's Shield~~~

Four babes at Padang~

Year 1: Best Rag Design

Year 2: -

Year 3: Best presentation, best rag design, best overall and best dance

Year 4: -

Today: Best Rag improvement, Best Flag improvement, Best Rag design, Best presentation and CHANCELLOR'S SHIELD~!

A million WELL DONE to all the Raggers out there and celebrate in victory, Sheares Hall. It was worthwhile to spend my off day underneath the hot sun and watch the Halls presentation for RAG. and man, do we rock...big time~! Brings back memories of Midway fair and even before the presentations start, SH float stood out among the competition, shiny, detailed and colorful, comparatively to the other halls.

Sab and Blub and I at Sakae Marina Square.

Had dinner with Sabby and Blubby subsequently at Sakae using my bro's Sakae voucher...nice dinner, nice talk and its great to spend the day like this...really wish days like this would come more often. but well, "all things come to an end", especially happy stuff. In any way, NUS students out there, you are starting school!!! enjoy your schooling days~ i can't stress this anymore~~time in NUS, especially in SH, is only once in a lifetime (for most of us)...
