Yesterday i set the ball rolling and slept, or tried to, sleep early...around 1plus...all the previous weeks of late nights is bad for my own biological clock i reckon...need to tilt it back abit so that i will not feel so lethargic in the afternoon. true enough, i does feel kinda lively now, energetic for the day ahead...though i didn't get as good a rest as i wanted due to the hot weather. =(
Anyway, as i was flipping around trying to sleep last night..i thought of what my mum said to me on Thursday when she sent me home. I was asking her whether she has bought any other insurance for me other than the one i knew 'cause i need to have an idea of how much i'm insured so that it will be better for me to plan out my finances once i start work. Being her, she begins to nag at me and "warns" me not to think of using that money as she wants to save it...mega SNORT...
Well, after nagging and nagging, she says she wants to save it all up and when she dies, it will, in the end, pass it down to us...i didn't think much of what she said then 'cause i'm in a shut-my-ear-and-stop-the-nagging mode...LOL...so thinking about it last night, it wasn't the money that she will pass down that i was thinking about, but the fact that it ain't that long before she and my dad pass away (of course my parents will pass away in old old age!!!) makes me feel sad...come to think about it, when you are busy with your career, your boy/girlfriend, your friends and colleagues, you wun have time for them. Later on, when you have children and other things to maintain, you still wun have time for them. By the time you have time for them, when you are retired, they may not be around anymore. For me it will be about 15-20 years when they reach they late-60s, well i guess i certainly doesn't want them to enjoy their life only till then. so i have decided to add one more item to my list. I am going to bring my whole family to Europe before i enter my 30s. =)
To those out there who feel a tinge bad about not respecting your parents at times (i admit i do!), not showing you care or even feel that you can do much more, don't wait to do something nice for them. don't wait till you have lots of money. don't wait till you can give them grandchildren to hold. don't wait till tomorrow. you never know whether there will be a tomorrow.
i sound like an old man. LOL.
